Teen charged with assaulting 12-year-old

An 18-year-oldForestCityman has been accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl on New Year’s Eve.

Troy Emmit Evans was charged by Forest City Police Assistant Chief Lee Rowan with corruption of minors, indecent assault, aggravated indecent assault of a child, rape of a child, statutory sex assault and involuntary sexual intercourse with a child after the father of the victim came to police to report his daughter had hickeys on her neck and chest area.

The dad said his daughter went out New Year’s Eve to stay at a girlfriend’s house but wound up with Evans at aDelaware Streethome.

He had overheard his daughter talking with a niece and then she admitted to him the source of the hickeys on each side of her neck and one on her left chest.

The alleged victim told investigators that she was a willing participant and that Evans had drunk beer and smoked marijuana afterward.

When the 12-year-old was interviewed by theChildAdvocacyCenterinScranton, she also admitted to having sexual intercourse with Evans, and a rape kit was done on the victim.

His preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Suzanne Brainard in Clifford was Jan. 17.
