Assault, corruption charges held for trial

BY STACI WILSON

Charges filed against a man police say forced a young boy to watch pornography and touched him inappropriately while in his care in Auburn Twp. were bound over for trial after a hearing Wednesday, Feb. 29 in Montrose District Court.

Charges lodged against Christopher Dedonis, 37, of Albrightsville, involve incidents that allegedly occurred during a five month period of time, Oct. 2006-Feb. 2007. The boy, according to court documents, was six years old at the time.

Dedonis faces two counts each of indecent assault, endangering the welfare of a child, corruption of minors and unlawful contact with a minor.

The preliminary hearing was held in front of District Judge Jeffrey Hollister.

The child came forward with the allegations in the Sept. 2011.

According to the affidavit, the boy told police Dedonis made him watch pornographic movies while he was babysitting the child. He told police Dedonis had a tote full of pornographic tapes and DVDs.

The boy said Dedonis would touch him in the genital area; and he was made to touch the man inappropriately.

Dedonis, police said, told the boy not to tell anyone about the incidents.

A formal arraignment was scheduled for March 13. Dedonis remains free on his own recognizance.
