Elk Lake’s Lady Warrior softball team won a nail-biter ofMountain Viewon Wednesday night in Dimock, 9-8.
The Eagles sprung out to a 3-0 lead after the top of the first beforeElkLakewould score two in the first and another two in the second to make it 4-3.
However,Mountain Viewanswered back with a run in the third to tie things up at four apiece. In the bottom of the third,ElkLakebrought in a run to regain a 5-4 lead.
However,Mountain Viewtied up the game at five apiece with a run in the sixth.ElkLakethen scored a pair of runs in the sixth to make it a 7-5 game.
Mountain Viewwasn’t finished as the Eagles scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to take an 8-7 lead.
However, Paige Parkhurst hit a walk-off RBI single in the seventh to score winning runner Laura Gacha.
McKenzi Moon, who also scored in the seventh, had four hits, including a double and a triple.
Debbie Harvey took the pitching win, giving up eight hits, four earned runs and one walk while striking out five in a complete-game outing.
Caitlyn Tague homered for the Eagles while Ashley Nichols added a double. Mercedes Kromko singled and drove in a pair of runs for the Eagles.
Tague took the pitching loss, giving up 11 hits, five earned runs and four walks while striking out three in a complete-game outing.
Montrose
The Montrose Area softball team picked up an 11-8 victory overForestCityon the road on Wednesday afternoon.
Montrose came out to a 3-0 lead after the first two innings before Forest City tied things up with a three-run third inning.
Montrose regained the lead with a pair of runs in the fourth before the Foresters would retake the lead with four runs in the bottom of the fourth.
Trailing 7-5, the Meteors scored two runs in the fifth, one in the sixth and three more in the top of the seventh to take an 11-7 lead.
ForestCitythreatened with a run in the final inning, but Montrose held on to take the win.
Katie Trecoske had two hits and drove in three runs to lead the Meteors.
Dallas Ely, Sam Dixon and Brooke Malloy had three hits each to help the Meteors.
Lacy Neely took the pitching win giving up 13 hits, seven earned runs and two walks while striking out six in seven innings.
Michaela Martines and Katie O’Neill each had three hits forForestCitywhile Emily Zerby added a double and a triple.
Kayla Yates took the pitching loss giving up 15 hits, six earned runs and no walks while striking out two in seven innings. She also tripled on offense.

Blue Ridge
The Blue Ridge softball team was handed a 9-1 loss from Lackawanna Trail in a Division III game at Tunnel Hill on Wednesday.
The Lady Lions got on the board quick with three runs in the first, while holding the Raiders to just one run in the second.
Trail then added six more runs, including four from a grand slam in the sixth inning to rout the Raiders.
Jackie Furch and Christine Carlsen each doubled for the Raiders while Walters had a pair of singles and drove in a run.
Furch was the losing pitcher, giving up six hits, eight earned runs and four walks while striking out six.
