Indecent exposure case held for trial

BY STACI WILSON

A Laceyville man faces charges after he allegedly exposed himself to teenage employees at aLawtonconvenience store on multiple occasions.

Fifteen counts of indecent exposure lodged against William Moreck Jr., 24, were bound over to the Court of Common Pleas following a preliminary hearing Monday in front of District Judge Jeffrey Hollister.

A 17-year-old female and former Flynn’sStoneCastleemployee told the court the Moreck often came into the convenience store and deli.

She said Moreck inappropriately flashed her on 10-15 separate occasions during the two years she worked there. The teen said she worked at Flynn’s until about one month ago.

She testified that Moreck came out of the men’s bathroom with his pants and underwear down below his knees and his genitalia was visible.

The teen told the court she was flashed by Moreck about once a week, when she was 16 years of age, over a one-year timeframe until she stopped working in store’s cooler stocking area about one year ago.

She said on one occasion Moreck said, “Sorry,” to her but the behavior continued.

The teen said she reported the incidents to other employees but did not tell the store owner or police and she never told him to stop the behavior.

“We all knew,” she said. “It happened to others.”

Another teen also took the stand Monday and said Moreck also exposed himself to her about one month ago.

She told the court she had gone to the cooler area – located near the restrooms – to get a drink. Moreck, she said, was standing in the bathroom with the door open and his pants down.

The girl said she told her coworkers about the incident and reported it to owner, Brett Flynn, and her mother.

Public defender Linda LaBarbera said there was a credibility issue of the prosecution’s witnesses that would be decided at trial.

Moreck is free on unsecured bail. A formal arraignment was scheduled for June 19.
