KATIE GROOVER
Montrose Area catcher Katie Groover has been named to the Pennsylvania Softball Coaches’ Assucation Class AA All-State first team for her performance this past season.
Montrose captured the Lackawanna Division III title and Groover earned the division’s Player of the Year award.
She hit .561 with 25 runs scored, 21 RBIs, six doubles, five triples and two home runs.
During the season, she had a 10-game hitting streak and 10 multi-hit games.
Groover was also a Scranton Times-Tribune All-Region selection this spring.
