The Mountain View girls’ track and field team took second place and the Montrose boys’ team took third at the first Tochelli Junior High Track and Field Championship meet at Scranton Memorial Stadium on Friday night.
The Lady Eagles had 73 points to take second as Lakeland took first with 181. Elk Lake grabbed third with 63, Montrose had fourth with 61, Blue Ridge took sixth with 40.5and Susquehanna took 11th with 17 points.
The Meteor boys had 61 points for second as Lakeland took first at 170.5. Elk Lake took fourth place with 61 points, Mountain View had eighth place with 28, and Blue Ridge took 10th with 24.5.
In the girls’ meet, Mountain View’s girls were led by a first place finish from Jamie Supanick in the pole vault at 6-feet, 0-inches while teammate Emmille Miller took first in the shot put at 33-feet, 8.5-inches.
Elk Lake’s Keri Jones finished first in the 1600 at 5:38.65 and first in the 3200 at 12:20.82 to lead the Warriors while teammate Katie Bennett took a first place in the 800 at 2:34.96.
The Lady Warriors also took first place in the 3200 relay at 10:36.23.
On the boys’ side, Elk Lake’s Cody Oswald took first place in the 800 at 2:15.35, while teammates Daniel Bell placed first in the 3200 at 11:22.84 and Jason Vasquez took first in the 300 hurdles at 45.62.
Josh Santomauro placed first in the pole vault for Elk Lake at 7-feet, 0-inches and teammate Tom Malandri took first in the shotput at 41-feet, 7-inches.
