Foresters sink Eagles

The Forest City golf team rolled to an 8.5-0.5 win over Mountain View in their match at Memorial Links Thursday and is now 9-3 on the year.

Nick Rutledge shot a career-best 1-under par and won his match 2 and 1 to lead the Foresters.

In Individual play, Forest City’s Sean McCormick defeated Brian Owen, 3-2; Adam Kovaleski (FC) beat Jordan Kochmur, 3 and 2; Rutledge beat Tyler Salak, 2 and 1; Dylan O’Dell (FC) beat Jacob Heller, 5 and 3; and Ryan Long (FC) defeated Cameron Walsh, 2-up.

Chad Westcott tied his match 2-up for the Eagles’ half-point.

In Better-ball, McCormick-Kovaleski beat Owen-Kochmur, 4 and 3, Rutledge-O’Dell beat Salak-Heller; 2 and 1 and Blake-Long defeated Westcott-Walsh, 2 and 1 for the Foresters.

MONTROSE

The Meteors cruised to 8-1 victories over Lackawanna Trail at the Montrose Country Club on Sept. 17 and Elk Lake at Tall Pines on Thursday before beating Lakeland, 6.5-2.5, Friday.

The Meteors earned four individual wins from Kory Morrison (2 and 1), Caleb Hoal (3 and 2), Cameron Dean ( 3 and 2) and Austin Smith (5 and 4) and improved to 8-3 on the season.

Bradly Wayman, Codi Benedict, Austin Smith, Cameron Dean and Andreas Mittman each had two wins to lead Montrose over the Lions.

Against Elk Lake, Wayman, Smith, Dean, Morrison and Hoal each added two wins.

Cole Tyler continued to lead the Warriors and won his individual match against Kory Morrison, 2-up.

BLUE RIDGE

The Raiders took down Mid Valley 5-4 at Golden Oak Thursday to improve to 3-7-1.

Kasey Burdick (5 and 4) and Olivia Rockwell (4 and 3) picked up two wins to lead Blue Ridge, while Isabella Cosmello and Mike Pelicci split their matches.

A. French-Burdick (1-up) and Rockwell-Cosmello (3 and 2) won their doubles matches.
