Kyle MacDonald and Emily Staros were crowned king and queen of the 2013 Susquehanna Community Homecoming.

Kyle is the son of Jeff and Terri MacDonald. He is a member of the Saber Basketball team, the Project Lead the Way Engineering Team, and an avid girls’ Volleyball Fan.

He plans to enter the workforce upon graduation.

Emily is the daughter of Stanley and Lisa Staros. She is a member of the Volleyball and Track and Field teams. She is also a member of the band, the National Honor Society, Prom Committee, the Student Council, Yearbook, and the Class of 2014 Vice President.

Emily plans to major in Biology at Syracuse University and become an optometrist.

The homecoming court included: Josh Wheeler who escorted Mashawna Hargett; Kyle MacDonald who escorted Michaela Rhone; Cody Towers who escorted Lauren Marco; Brandon Soden who escorted Amber Dubanowitz; Nate Carpenter who escorted Alexis Roe; Nick Acosta who escorted Emily Staros;and Mark Zappe who escorted Sarah Serfilippi.

Window painting was another SCHS Homecoming activity. The painting shown above was on display in The Shops Plaza and was painted by members of the Class of 2014. Various class and school organization members painted store fronts and windows all over Susquehanna in anticipation of Homecoming. Residents not only enjoyed the student's handiwork but also appreciated the autumn decorations adorning the street lights placed there by Susquehanna Community Development Association members.

The 2013 committee for the Homecoming activities, chaired by Michaela Rhone and Emily Staros, selected various themes for the week prior to the parade, game, bonfire, dance and the crowning of the king and queen. The last day of school was the traditional Blue and White Day. Other activities during the week included window painting and homeroom decorating.

Window decorating winners were: First place – Sophomore class; Second place – 7th grade; Third place – Band.
