Crews used hooks to pull smoldering walls away from the side of Stanley Maciuska’s mobile home on Airport Road on Sunday afternoon.
His daughter, Carrie Maciuska, said her father had been trying to thaw frozen pipes using a kerosene heater or a blow torch when the home caught fire.
Mr. Maciuska was not injured, just shaken up, his daughter said.
Several Susquehanna County departments quickly doused the fire, which started around 3:30 p.m. in White’s Mobile Home Park, but Ms. Maciuska said she doubted the home — or any of her father’s belongings inside — could be salvaged.
