A Mountain View teacher accused of having sex with an 18-year-old student earlier this year waived her preliminary hearing Monday in New Milford District Couty.

Megan Fae Clough, 29, of faces one felony count of institutional sexual assault for allegedly had sexual intercourse with a male student March 12 at her Great Bend Township home.

State law makes it a felony for a teacher (or school district volunteer) to engage in a sexual relationship with a student.

She remains free on unsecured bail while the charge against her was bound over for trial in the Susquehanna County Court of Common Pleas.

Allegations first came to light after a parent reported to High School Principal Robert Presley that Clough was sending naked pictures of herself to male students, as well as having a sexual relationship with a student.

The student – who graduated in June – told police Clough had sent her several nude images and admitted he had sex with her at her home in March.

According to the criminal complaint filed in June, a Mountain View 11th grade student admitted to police that he had a nude photo of Clough in his cell phone. The photo, a picture of a female exposing her genital area, had a caption of “how is this something you want to see.”

The student told police he had the picture on his device because Clough had sent it to another student using the social media app “Snapchat.”

According to the affidavit, Clough admitted to having intercourse with the former student while he was in high school.

Clough was suspended from her teaching position at Mountain View without pay pending resolution of the matter, according to Mountain View Superintendent Karen Voigt. She has been employed as a high school learning support teacher in the district for three years.
