The Elk Lake field hockey team took a 3-1 win at home over Hanover on Friday after it picked up an 8-1 victory in its season opener at Dimock on Wednesday afternoon.
Facing Hanover, Elk Lake got on the scoreboard first with a Dylan Simmons goal, unassisted, with 14:30 remaining in the first half.
Hanover then tied it up with a goal with 2:48 remaining in the first half to make it a tied game at the break.
In the second half, Simmons scored a second goal with 10:38 remaining in the game to make it 2-1.
And, Trevor Gowin added some insurance with a goal at 1:48, unassisted.
Warrior goalie Luke Myers had 12 saves in the contest.
Against GAR in the first half, Elk Lake took a 2-0 lead with Paul Cron scoring off an assist from CJ Bevan at 23:26, followed by a Simmons goal with an assist from John Krieg with 4:09 remaining in the half.
The second half saw Warrior Lisa Waldron score a goal with an assist from Paul Cron at 27:58 to make it a 3-0 Warrior lead before GAR would score its only goal of the game at 23:58.
Waldron then knocked one in off an assist from Bevan at 15:35, followed by a pair of Simmons goals at 7:35 and 6:48 unassisted, to make it 6-1.
Johnny Cron then scored a goal with 4:13 remaining in the game, and then capped off the evening with a goal at 2:12 with an assist from Krieg.
The Warriors took 20 shots on goal and had eight corners while Myers had 12 saves.
