Warriors fall to Tunkhannock

Elk Lake’s field hockey team faced a 2-1 loss to Tunkhannock Area in a game played on the road on Friday.

In the first half, Tunkhannock’s Kristi Katra got the Tigers on the board with a goal at 24:16.

Tunkhannock held a 1-0 lead coming out of halftime, and made it 2-0 at 22:08 in the second half as Hayle Underwood found the cage with an assist from Katie O’Neill.

Elk Lake’s Johnny Cron had a goal for the Warriors at 28:38 in the second half, but it wasn’t enough to overtake the Tiger advantage.

Tunkhannock had seven shots on goal and six corners while goalie Tara Hartman had two saves.

The Warriors had four shots on goal and five corners while Luke Myers picked up five saves.
