Deer trapping talk in Mayfield

On Wednesday, Oct. 20, the fifth of five special talks by Pennsylvania Game Commission Deer trapping team leader Jim Stickles, in Management unit 3C, and the directors of the Susquehanna branch of the Quality Deer Management Association will take place in Mayfield at St. Rose Academy.

Stickles talk will focus on his past two years of deer trapping in Northeast Pennsylvania with a look forward to what he expects for the third and final year of the study in the hunting area identified as 3C.

The Susquehanna Branch will have a variety of talks on habitat management ranging such as:  what can an individual do with his old fields, food plots, woodland and other areas. This free event is open to all of the public.

The talks will be about a half-hour each with plenty of time for questions and answers. Everyone is welcome to attend as you do not need any special invitation or to be a member of any organization.

The event begins at 6:30 p.m. at the St. Rose Academy, 1300 Old Plank Road in Mayfield. For more information, contact Jim Dovin at 650-5967.
