Lady Eagles top Elk Lake

Mountain View’s girls’ soccer team took a 3-1 win at home over Elk Lake in the second round of the District II Class A playoffs on Thursday.

The Eagles got on the board with a goal from Jenny Molenko off an assist from Olivia Zick at 7:13.

Mountain View’s Alix Taylor then put the Eagles up 2-0 with a goal off an assist from Melissa Walker at 17:57 to lead at halftime.

After the half, Elk Lake’s Olivia Laudeman scored at 68:30 to make it 2-1, but Mountain View’s Sarah Pulice scored off an assist from Mercedes Kromko at 71:43 to give the Eagles the 3-1 win.

Mountain View had 17 shots on goal and three corners while goalie Caity Tague had two saves.

Elk Lake took three shots on goal with no corners as goalie Katie Mitchell picked up eight saves.

Mountain View will face Lakeland in the finals at Wallenpaupack on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
