Four Susquehanna County wrestlers traveled to Williamsport High School on Friday and Saturday for the PIAA Class AA regional tournament, where all four fell short of earning a bid to the state championship.
Blue Ridge’s Dalton Church (130) made it to the consolation semifinals where he was defeated by pin, after taking a win over Dallas’ Brian DeLuca in the consolation quarter finals.
In his first bout, Church lost by a 10-5 decision to East Juniata’s Sean Heggs.
Susquehanna’s Tom Maby also fell in the consolation semifinals after wrestling his was back
from a quarterfinal loss with a win against Dallas’ Zach Macosky in the consolation quarterfinals by pin.
Blue Ridge’s Zach Edwards (112) and Montrose’s Zach Thorne (160) both took two consecutive losses to be eliminated from the competition.
In the team standings, Susquehanna finished in 31st with 3 points, Blue Ridge took 34th with 1 point and Montrose took 36th with 0 points as Line Mountain took first at 75.5.
