Taylor leads Eagles to pair of wins

Mountain View’s Lady Eagles picked up a 2-0 shutout victory over Forest City at home on Sunday and also picked up a 6-5 victory over Western Wayne.

Against the Foresters, Alix Taylor held Forest City scoreless through six innings and recorded 16 strikeouts to help the Eagles take home a win.

Jenny Molenko and Sarah Nichols each had a single and an RBI to lead the Eagles.

Katie Yale was the losing pitcher for the Foresters giving up four hits, two earned runs and seven walks while striking out four.

Against Western Wayne, Taylor recorded 13 strikeouts as she two-hit the Lady Wildcats and had three hits including a double.

Caitlyn Tague had two hits and one RBI for the Lady Eagles in the victory.

Elk Lake

Elk Lake’s Lady Warriors picked up a 1-0 victory against Susquehanna’s Sabers on the road on Sunday.

Bri Hollenbeck’s first-inning single scored Gabby Baltzley as the Lady Warriors eked out a win to remain unbeaten.

Warrior pitcher Brooke Darling allowed just a fifth inning single to Brooke Sampson and struck out 15 batters in seven innings.

Baltzley and Casey Tyler had two hits apiece.

Kelly Burke took the pitching loss for Susquehanna giving up seven hits, one earned run and a walk while striking out two in seven innings in the circle.

Montrose

Montrose took a pair of victories over the weekend as the Lady Meteor softball team defeated Forest City, 14-3, and Blue Ridge, 5-4.

Against the Foresters, Dallas Ely had three hits, including a homer, to lead Montrose to a five-inning win.

Andrea Hinds was the winning pitcher as she allowed only three runs on three hits and struck out eight.

Katie Yale had a hit and an RBI for the Foresters as she took the pitching loss giving up 12 hits and eight earned runs.

Facing Blue Ridge, Hinds allowed only four runs on six hits with 11 strikeouts to stave off Blue Ridge in eight innings.

Eight Montrose players had hits, and Kaylah Trecoski drove in a run for the Lady Meteors.

Gabby Wolfe took the pitching loss for the Raiders, giving up four hits, three earned runs and three walks while striking out six.

Wolfe had a pair of hits and scored a run while Jackie Furch had two hits, two runs scored and an RBI.
