The search, which is being conducted regionally and state-wide through advertisements is local papers and trade publications, is expected to be completed by the end of December.

According to the district website, the board is seeking an empathetic, visionary individual with strong leadership skills in curriculum direction, budgetary affairs, staff negotiation, legislative and regulatory matters, and public relations.

Qualifications listed include understanding the complexities of school finance, articulate communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to analyze situations, initiate action, and provide leadership.

The full job description is available on the district’s website www.mvsd.net

Applications are due to board secretary Diane Makosky by Dec. 30.

According to Chichura, all applications will remain unopened until reviewed by the school board in an executive session.
