Charges against the man Susquehanna Depot police believe robbed Reddon’s Pharmacy on Feb. 21 will move forward to the Court of Common Pleas.
Edmund Carroll, 30, Susquehanna, waived his Monday, Feb. 27 preliminary hearing in front of District Judge Jodi Cordner.
Carroll was charged with one felony count of robbery in connection with the attempted hold-up.
Carroll is being held on $75,000 bail.
According to police, Carroll handed a note demanding specific narcotics to pharmacy technician Tanya Osterhout.
Osterhout then passed the note to Pharmacist Bruce Walsh.
According to the affidavit, Walsh approached Carroll and asked, “Is this real.”
Police said Carroll then showed a knife with a four-inch blade to Walsh and replied, “Does this look real?”
Police said Walsh then filled a bag with narcotics and also grabbed a can of pepper spray.
As Carroll reached for the bag of drugs, Walsh sprayed Carroll in the face with the pepper spray, according to the affidavit.
Carroll then fled from the store.
According to the police report, Kevin Murphy told police he was Carroll’s cousin and he had received a phone call from Carroll who told him he had tried to rob the pharmacy, had gotten maced in the face and was scared.
Police said Murphy indicated Carroll was in theLanesboroCemetery.
Carroll was apprehended at the cemetery without incident and provided police with a written confession.
