Federation of Sportsmen’s 2016 Youth Field Day

On Sept. 24, the Susquehanna County Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs (SCFSC) will be holding its annual Youth Field Day (YFD).

This Youth Field day is a free event, open to boys and girls, ages 8-16.

Field Days introduce participants to outdoor sports such as archery, trapping, shooting, canoeing, wildlife habitat management and hunting safety through closely supervised hands-on activities. An adult must accompany all youth participants, under age 16, and can accompany more than one youth. The YFD will run from 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m., with seven different events. A free lunch will be provided to all participants by the SCFSC.

The signup process is easier than ever especially if you have a computer or an electronic messaging device. The field day registration website, set up by the Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC), is https://www.register-ed.com/events/view/88159

This year’s event will be held at the Canawacta Rod and Gun Clubhouse up on Oak Hill north of the town of Oakland (3349 Oak Hill Rd). Directions to the YFD are also on this registration site.
