Raiders take wins over FC, WW

Blue Ridge picked up wins on the soccer field last week with victories over Western Wayne and Forest City.

Montrose remains undefeated with a 6-3 win over Lakeland; and Mountain View shut out Riverside, 12-0.

Garret Mansfield and Corbin French both scored in the Raiders 2-1 win over Western Wayne, on Friday at home.

French and Axel Mejia each had an assist.

Raider goalie Eric Hall had 11 saves.

On Thursday, Blue Ridge scored a 6-1 victory over the Foresters at home in a Division III game.

Axel Mejia scored three goals; Corbin French added two, including one penalty kick and two assists; and Tyrell Cheeseboro scored one for the Raiders.

Ian Bailey scored for Forest City at the 10 minute mark; and Dakota Knehr-Cook had 11 saves in the Forester goal.

Six different Meteors scored in the team’s 6-3 win over Lakeland at home on Thursday.

Scoring for Montrose started early with Brennan Gilhool finding the net at the 28 second mark.

Adding to the point total was Chris Spence, Zack Dieck, Chris Lewis, Tyler Andre and Giovanni Amato.

Amato added two assists, and Tom Vaccaro, Jackson Griffith each had an assist. Goalie Brendan Buck had eight saves.

Alex Showalter and Ben Page scored three goals for the Eagles in the 12-0 shut out of Riverside.

Zeke Cross and Nick Pellew both added two goals for Mountain View, with a score also coming from both Jon Master and Blaize Whitehead.

Elk Lake fell to Scranton Prep, 5-0. Goalie Zach Groover had 10 saves.
