Head-on crash sends 4 to hospitals

Four people were sent to area hospitals following a head-on collision in New Milford Thursday, Aug. 16.

Driver John Clink, 28, Hallstead, was traveling north on Route 11 when he fell asleep at the wheel, according to police.

Clink’s 2003 Nissan Altima then crossed into the southbound lane into the path of a 2016 Hyundai Tucson driven by Shelia Guinan, 50, of Hallstead.

Clink sustained injuries of an unknown severity and was transported by Great Bend-Hallstead Ambulance to Geisinger CMC in Scranton.

Two passengers in Clink’s vehicle were also injured.

Passenger Miranda Kimmel, 22, Hallstead, sustained a suspected serious injury and was also taken to Geisinger CMC for treatment.

Joseph Sutton, 27, New Milford, was the second passenger in the Altima, and sustained injuries of an unknown severity. He was transported by Montrose Minute Men to Wilson Hospital, Johnson City, N.Y., for treatment.

Guinan was also injured and transported by Montrose Minute Men to Wilson Hospital for treatment.
