Montrose hosted Abington Heights in an exhibition match as both teams hoped to stay sharp before the upcoming Individual District matches.

Abington rolled to a 65-16 victory behind five pins by the Comet grapplers.

Leading the way for Montrose was Joe Hester who pinned Tyler Wilmot at 132 pounds.

At 138 pounds Montrose’s Brennan Kanna picked up a 12-4 major decision victory over Sal Scavione.

The Meteors also got a win from Bryan Ryan at 195 pounds when he picked up an injury default victory over Gavin Drake.

Swimming

Elk Lake Boys and Girls Swim teams both picked up a victory over Valley View.

In a thrilling meet the Lady Warriors nipped Valley View 83½ -79½ when they captured the 400 Free Relay in the final event of the meet.

Lizzy Lyden, Georgia Smith, Megan Bosscher and Reese Warriner teamed up to capture the event. The group also combined to capture the 200 Free Relay.

Warriner was the lone individual winner when she won the 100 Fly.

Elk Lake was buoyed by second place finishes by Lyden in the 200 Free, Smith in the 50 Freestyle and Bosscher finished second in the 500 Free.

In boys’ action, Kale Decker, Noah Staff, and Kevin Noldy each won two individual events and teamed in several relays to propel the Warriors to a 95-43 win over Valley View.

Decker won the 200 and 500 Freestyle, while Staff captured the 200 Intermediate and the 100 Fly. Noldy won the 50 Free and the 100 Backstroke.

Decker, Noldy, and Staff teamed with Mario Mallo to win the 200 Medley Relay.

Decker and Staff also teamed with Zach Grovesnor and Chris Masylar to capture the 200 Freestyle Relay. While Grovesnor, Masylar, Mollo, and Noldy won the 400 Freestyle Relay.

Mollo also had second place finishes in the 50 and 100 Freestyle individual events. Masylar finished behind Decker in the 200 Freestyle and Issiac Brewer was second in the 500 Free.
