Forest management talk, hike on tap

The Rail-Trail Council of NEPA presents Forest Management with Jim Kessler, a retired District Forester, on Saturday, Sept. 19, at 10 a.m.

Kessler will be discussing the science of managing, using, conserving and repairing forests and the associated resources for human and environmental benefits.  You can count on learning something new and appreciating what our forests provide for us.

We will meet at the Little Ireland Rd., D&H Trailhead in Starrucca and walk south on the D&H Trail to Bucks Falls.

As we walk along the Trail, you will look down upon the beautiful views of the village of Starrucca. Awaiting your arrival is the magical Bucks Falls, a visual treat for the eyes and the soul as it is situated in a Hemlock Forest. You will hear the peaceful sound of water as it flows over the rocks, and you will notice the rocks below the Falls dressed in beautiful green moss.

This walk and talk will not only be educational, but a perfect time to reconnect to nature and let go of all the stress.  Be sure to have cameras.

It is an OUTDOOR experience that will just make YOU feel better.
