Blue Ridge swept Mountain View 3-0 to earn a chance to play for their chance to win a ninth straight District II Class A volleyball title. The Lady Raiders face Lackawanna Trail tonight at 5pm at North Pocono High School as part of a double header.
Libby Zick led the way with 19 service points, including seven aces, and 23 assists who won 25-12, 25-6, and 25-5.
Kaelynn Brant and Foxlynn King each had six kills for Blue Ridge and Katelyn Spencer and Leigha McCain each added four kills. King also had nine points and Brant had eight including three aces while Spencer added six digs.
Rachel Evans had five assists to lead Mountain View and Ryleigh Kilmer added three kills.
Lackawanna Trail got to the championship with a 3-0 sweep of Susquehanna.
The Lady Lions won 25-19, 25-19, and 25-6 to move on. Leading Susquehanna was Paige Straway with 15 digs while Kerstin Dooley added 14. Brianna Ashman added five assists and Alexandra Iveson had two aces.
Mountain View earned its way to face Blue Ridge in the semifinals with a 3-0 sweep of MMI Prep.
Evans led the way with 13 assists and Addison Kilmer added seven kills for Mountain View. Ryleigh Kilmer and Lauren Clancy each had seven aces for the Lady Eagles who won 25-9, 25-6, and 25-16.
Western Wayne made quick work of Elk Lake in the first round dispatching the Lady Warriors in three games, 25-7, 25-6, 25-14.
Kadyn Forkal had 10 assists and eight digs for Elk Lake while Carolynn Thomas had five kills.
