Pratt Library to receive back taxes

Pratt Memorial Library Association in New Milford will see some back tax revenue coming their way after the Susquehanna County Commissioners approved the payment at the September 27 meeting.

Pratt Library will received $31,124. Taxes collected from 2012-2022 were sent to the Susquehanna County Historical Society and Free Library Association in error and the Association did not pay Pratt as indicated in the agreement.

Marcellus Legacy Fund Mini Grants were approved by the Commissioners as follows:

*Rail Trail Council of NEPA, Inc.: $10,000;

*Susquehanna Blossoms: $2,445;

*Blue Ridge Recreation, Inc.: $10,000.

The Commissioners entered a Memorandum of Understanding with the Montrose Area School District to provide the School Resource Officer for the 2023-24 school year at a total cost of $46,435.22 per SRO.

Election training pay was set at a $50 flat fee per poll worker, effective Sept. 27.

The Commissioners proclaimed October 2023 as Domestic Violence Awareness Mount in Susquehanna County.

The Commissioners also proclaimed Oct. 1-7 as Mental Illness Awareness Week in the county.
