Halloween 2016: Prepare for a Spook-tacular weekend!

Halloween Fest returns Saturday, Oct. 29, to Salt Springs Park on Silver Creek Rd., Franklin Forks.
Activities kick off at 4 p.m. with pumpkin carving.
At 6 p.m., break open the piñata and tell ghost stories until dark, then take a walk in the haunted woods.
There will be treats for those who come in costume and a campfire will follow the walk.
Admission is $5 per person; and $20 for families; with Friends of Salt Springs members receiving a 50% off discount.

EMHS Rehab Trunk or Treat
EMHS Rehab & Wellness staff is excited to invite the community to join us for an afternoon of costumes, candy, and more at our 1st Trunk or Treat event on Saturday, Oct. 29, 3-6 p.m., at the EMHS Rehabilitation facility, 574 Grow Ave., Montrose (located behind the DMV).
Attendees can also look forward to games, refreshments, giveaways, tours of the facility, and instant prints of you and your family or friends in costume.
This is a free event.

Parade of Lights
The Annual Parade of Lights in New Milford will be held Saturday, Oct. 29, at 6:30 p.m.
Parade line-up is at 6 p.m. at Cosmello’s Auto on Main St. (SR 11). The parade ends at the Blue Ridge Park.
There will be games and refreshments at the park.
This event is sponsored by Columbia Hose Co., New Milford.

Children’s Costume Party
American Legion Auxiliary, Post 154 will hold its annual Community Children’s Halloween Costume Party, 1-3 p.m., Elk Lake Road, Montrose, on Sunday, Oct. 30.
There will be refreshments, games, and “prizes” for children, ages 10 and under.
All children and family members welcome.

Thompson Halloween Party
Children of all ages are invited to a fun and festive Halloween party in Thompson, on Sunday, October 30.
Witches, fairy princesses, monsters, superheroes, and creatures of all kinds will enjoy snacks, games, and costume judging as they celebrate their favorite holiday of the year.
Children are asked to come in costume—and “children,” clarifies the party’s organizer, Bill Wallace, includes anyone “from one to one hundred.”
The Halloween party is free of charge. It will take place from 2-4 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge, Jackson St., Thompson. There is a large marquee board out front.

Halloween at the museum
The Forest City Area Historical Society is proud to present “Halloween at the Museum 2016”. The event, for young and old, will take place at the FCA Historical Society Museum, corner of Main and Dundaff Streets, 6:30 P.M. Saturday October 29th, beginning with a ‘Costume Contest’ which will be followed up by the animated 2012 comedy film “Hotel Transylvania”, rated PG.
Cash prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place at the Costume Contest event which will start at 6:30 p.m. The movie is Free and the event will include Free Popcorn. Parents are encouraged to bring their children to the event, all ages are welcome to come and join in the fun.

Masquerade gala
The Susquehanna County Recreation Center Project is holding its first formal fundraising event entitled, “The SCRC Mystical Masquerade Ball” on Saturday, Oct. 29, at Heart Lake Lodge in Scott Township.
Proceeds from the event will be used to support the development and construction of a large nonprofit sports center and meeting facility in Susquehanna County.
Formal masquerade attire encouraged the evening of the ball.
Cocktail hour begins at 6 p.m., and dinner, music, dancing and innovative auctioneering and fundraising will follow.

Trick or treat at OMV
Old Mill Village will also host a Halloween Trick or Treat night on Saturday, Oct. 29, 6-8 p.m.
Special admission rate is $1 for ages 3 and up.
The Village buildings will be open for costumed Trick-or-Treaters to collect sweet treats.
Fun activities such as pumpkin decorating – bring your own or purchase one there – and games.

*Community Halloween party, Friday, Oct. 28, 7 p.m., Fairdale Grange Hall. Costume contest; prizes and refreshments. Bring a non-perishable food item donation for food bank.
