County hires 3 to process doe permits

The Susquehanna County Salary Board created three temporary, part-time clerical positions in the Treasurer’s Office to process doe permits.
The positions are added annually by the board.
Theresa McNamara, Sharon Stockholm and Sarah Smith were appointed by County Treasurer Jason Miller to fill the spots, effective July 10, until the doe permits are finished.
Miller said that about 10,000 doe permits were processed in Susquehanna County last year. A total of 42,000 doe permits are available in WMU 3C.
This year, the Pennsylvania Game Commission has also made an additional 6,000 permits available in the Wildlife Management Unit that Susquehanna County is a part of, according to Miller.
Doe permits cost $6.90 for Pennsylvania residents; and $26.90 for out-of-state residents. Of the permit fee, one dollar of that stays in Susquehanna County.
