NYC woman killed in crash

A 19-year-old New York City woman was killed and three others were injured in an Aug. 24 crash on Interstate 81 in Harford Twp.

Passenger Alexis Reyes, of New York, NY, sustained a fatal injury in the 7:26 a.m. crash in the northbound lanes of I-81.

Driver Demetrious Jordan, 31, of Brooklyn, N.Y., was traveling north in the left lane of the highway. The 2011 Dodge Caravan traveled across the right lane, exited the roadway and struck a large stone embankment. Reyes was seated in the left rear passenger seat at the time of the crash.

Jordan and 37-year-old female sustained suspected serious injuries; and a 19-year-old female seated in the right rear passenger seat had minor injuries, according to police. The three were transported to Wilson Hospital, Johnson City, N.Y., for treatment.

EMS agencies assisting on the scene included Columbia (New Milford), Harford and Thompson.
