Detective Nick Holliday returns in ‘A Dame to Die For’

Detective Nick Holliday returns to the stage for the third installment of the Parlor City Noir series on Thursday, Dec. 8 and Friday, Dec. 9, at 7 p.m., at the Great Bend VFW.

Endless Mountains Theatre Company presents “A Dame to Die For,” an original, noir detective drama by local playwright David Schmidt, on Thursday, Dec. 8 and Friday, Dec. 9, at the Great Bend VFW, Main St., Great Bend.
Show time for both nights is 7 p.m.; doors open at 6:30 p.m.
When private investigator Nick Holliday is hired by a mysterious woman to protect a large, blue gem known as the “Sapphire Star,” he reluctantly agrees.
But the hard-boiled Holliday soon learns there’s more to this case than simply babysitting and expensive rock.
His client is found murdered on the Water Front and he finds himself matching wits with a psychotic Parlor City fence and a dangerous, international, jewel smuggler and gangster known as the “Black Russian.”
On top of that Dora, his secretary and right-hand-woman, is kidnapped.
It’s a race against time as Nick attempts to thwart the plots of his two adversaries and rescue Dora.
A Dame to Die for is the third installment in the Nick Holliday series that EMTC brings to the stage. Tickets are available at the door; adults/$14; students and seniors/$12. Light fare will be served, and a cash bar will be available.
