The annual Ag Day pie contest and auction raised $5,995 for Susquehanna

County 4-H and the Dairy Princess and Promotions program.

Julia Briechle’s Apple Crumble pie – submitted in the youth division – garnered the highest bid of the day, selling for $225 to Honesdale National Bank.

There were a total of 58 entries in the pie contest, with 27 adults and 31 youth participating.

Contest winners were as follows:

Adult division: Creamy Peanut Butter Pie, by Bonnie Miller of Laceyville; Apple Pie, by Cherie Bonavita of Meshoppen; and Strawberry & Cream Pie, by Victoria Clark of Springville.

Youth Division: Peanut Butter Pie, by Kyle Bonvita, age 17, Elk Lake High School; Apple Pie by Chelsea Empett, age 12, Mountain View Jr/Sr High; and a Gluten Free Peanut Butter Pie by Holly Harvatine, age 14, Mountain View Jr/Sr High.
