Blue Ridge takes OT loss

The Blue Ridge boys’ varsity basketball team faced a 69-67 loss in two overtimes to Wyalusing at home on Thursday evening in New Milford.

Wyalusing got ahead after the first quarter pacing the Raiders 20-14, before Blue Ridge would come back with a 16-11 run in the second to trail by one points, 31-30 at halftime.

After the break, Wyalusing increased its lead after outscoring the Raiders 16-13 in the third, but the Raiders would go on a 20-16 run to send the game into overtime tied at 63 apiece.

In the first overtime, each team only scored two points to send it to a second overtime at 65-65, before the Rams would outscore the Raiders 4-2 to take the win.

Blue Ridge’s Sawyer Dearborn paced the Raiders with 26 points while Alex Cardoza had 16 and Matt Principe dropped in 15 points.
