Girls’ soccer

Montrose and Lakeland were tied for first place in Division 3 – both with 10-2 records – going into Tuesday and the final game of the regular girls’ soccer season.
The Lady Meteors faced Western Wayne at home Tuesday; while the Mountain View Lady Eagles traveled to Lakeland to take on the Chiefs.
Last year, Lakeland, Mountain View and Montrose battled for the title.
This season, Montrose split its games with the Chiefs – taking a loss in their first match-up, but delivering a win at their second meeting.
In last week’s play action, Maddie Gilhool had a first-half hat trick and an assist and Alexis Warren and Brianna Spence each scored two goals for Montrose to lead the Lady Meteors to an 11-1 win over Forest City.
MacKenzie Hartman scored for Forest City.
At Mid Valley, Sam Jones and Lucy Adams both recorded hat tricks to lead Mountain View, 8-0.
Abby Neri and Sydney Newhart also scored for the Lady Eagles.
At Lakeland, the Chiefs held Elk Lake scoreless, with the Lady Warriors suffering a 3-0 loss in the Division III-IV crossover game.
