Elk Lake swimmers notch wins

The Elk Lake boys’ and girls’ swimming and diving teams took a pair of victories at Hanover on Thursday and split with Wyoming Seminary on the road on Tuesday.

Elk Lake’s girls took a 101-83 win over Hanover while the boys’ team picked up a 94-75 win. Against Wyoming Seminary, Elk Lake’s girls took a 76-18 win, while the Warrior boys fell 55-45.

Facing Hanover, Elk Lake’s girls were led by Abby Zdancewicz with four wins, in the 200 and 500 freestyle and as a part of two winning relays, while the boys were led by Adam Phillips with four wins.

First place finishes on the girls’ side came from Zdancewicz in the 200 free at 2:17.70, the 500 free at 6:12.81, Chelsea Karabin in the 50 free and 100 free at 1:00.43, Rachel Grosvenor in the 100 fly at 1:20.12, the 200 free relay team of Rina Nikolaidis, Emmie Gibson, Zdancewicz and Karabin at 1:50.66 and the 400 free relay team of Nikolaidis, Gibson, Zdancewicz and Karabin at 4:23.77.

Seconds were recorded by the 200 medley relay team, Hannah Cave (200 free), Nikolaidis (50 free and 100 back) and Griffiths (100 fly).

Thirds came from Megan Honeyford (200 IM and 100 breast), Emmie Gibson (50 and 100 free), Wimmer (diving), the 200 free relay team, Anna Hamernick (100 back) and the 400 free relay team.

First place finishes for the boys were recorded by Brad Grosvenor in the 200 free at 2:19.94 and 100 fly at 1:10.74, Adam Phillips in the 200 IM at 2:08.09 and 100 free at :50.54, Dylan Simmons in diving, the 200 free relay team of Mowry, Manzek, Sterner and Phillips at 1:44.58 and the 400 free relay team of Manzek, Grosvenor, Mowry and Phillips in 3:52.10.

Seconds came from the 200 medley relay team, Cody Mowry (50 and 500 free), Sterner (100 fly) and Jordan (100 back).

Thirds were recorded by the 200 medley relay team, Jon Krieg (50 and 100 free), the 200 free relay team and Parrish (100 breast).

Wyoming Seminary meet

The Warriors were led on the girls’ side by Abby Zdancewicz who won the 200 and 500 free while the boys’ team was paced by Adam Phillips who had wins in the 100 breast and 200 IM.

First place finishes on the girls side came from the 200 medley relay team of Zdancewicz, Megan Honeyford, Grosvenor and Emmie Gibson in 2:16.37, the 200 free relay team of Rina Nikolaidis, Gibson, Maria Trowbridge and Bri Hollenback in 1:57.08, the 400 free relay team of Grosvenor, Trowbridge, Anna Hamernick and Hollenbeck in 4:41.09, Zdancewicz in the 200 free at 2:20.35 and 500 free at 6:25.16, Honeyford in the 200 IM at 2:57.57 and 100 breat at 1:31.82, Chelsea Karabin in the 50 free at :27.50 and 100 free at 1:01.42, Sam Griffiths in the 100 fly at 1:21.54 and Hamernick in the 100 back at 1:27.94.

Second place finishes came from the 200 medley relay team, Hannah Cave (200 and 500 free), Nikolaidis (50 free), Grosvenor (100 fly), Gibson (100 free) and the 200 free relay team.

Thirds were recorded by Farnelli (200 IM) and the 400 free relay team.

First place finishes for the boys came from Phillips in the 200 IM at 2:09.40 and the 100 breast at 1:07.03, Brad Grosvenor in the 100 fly at 1:11.44, Cody Mowry in the 100 free at :58.83, the 200 free relay team of Mowry, Grosvenor, Strener and Phillips at 1:43.79 and the 400 free relay team of Mowry, Grosvenor, Manzek and Phillips at 3:54.02.
