A Thompson teen was killed last week after a car struck the lawn tractor he was driving in Ararat Twp.

Christian Perrington, 13, of Thompson, was thrown from the tractor and was located on the shoulder of the southbound lane of State Route 171, just north of Waylake Road, on Aug. 30, just after 1 p.m. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Perrington was traveling south on the roadway when the tractor was hit by Dabra Wallace, 60, of Thompson, who was also traveling south in a Chevrolet Impala.

The tractor came to a rest in the northbound lane, facing east.

The death was ruled accidental by the coroner.

Wallace was taken to Geisinger CMC, Scranton, for treatment of minor injuries sustained in the crash.

Perrington had been a student in the Susquehanna Community School District and was about to begin his eighth grade year at the NEIU in Lackawanna County.

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the crash.

Anyone with information is asked to call PSP, Gibson at 570-465-3154.

The boy’s death came just one day before the fourth anniversary of the shooting death of his grandmother, Sharon Glover, by her estranged husband and his grandfather, Donald Glover Sr. in the family’s Way Lake Rd. home. Donald Glover is serving a 10 to 30 year sentence for the 2012 murder.

A funeral service for Perrington was held Saturday, Sept. 3. A Go Fund Me account was established to help with funeral expenses; and memorial donations can be made at the NBT Bank in Great Bend.
