Eagles rally falls short

A slow start proved to hard to overcome as Mountain View fell to host Northeast Bradford 43-35 in the final of the Panther Holiday Hoops Tournament.

Unlike the previous night the Eagles got off to a slow start with Michael Fanelli’s field goal the lone score as they trailed 9-2 after one.

Ryan and Tyler Henke combined for six points in the second quarter but the Panthers scored 17 to take a 26-11 lead at intermission.

After halftime Mountain View tightened down defensively and got the offense on track with a 12-8 advantage in the third quarter behind Fanelli’s six points to cut the lead to 34-23.

Ryan Henke nailed two threes in the fourth quarter and Fanelli added four more points as the Eagles cut the lead to two late, but Northeast Bradford converted six free throws down the stretch to seal the win.

Fanelli led the way with 14 points and Ryan Henke finished with 11.

Mountain View reached the final with a 53-28 drubbing of Ross Corners Christian Academy to earn their first win of the season.

Ryan Henke led the way with 16 points as the Eagles opened up a 26-11 halftime advantage and put the game away with 19 after intermission. Fanelli added 14 while Wyatt Brozonis and Tyler Henke chipped in with five each.
